Non-Profit Intern

Internships at Torch 180 

Torch 180 is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing vocational training to individuals with disabilities. We operate a unique model that combines traditional non-profit work with the operation of a café and coffee shop, offering comprehensive training and employment opportunities to our students and employees.

Job Description:

We are seeking motivated and passionate interns to join our team and assist in various aspects of our organization. As an intern at Torch 180, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in non-profit management, business operations, marketing, hospitality, social work, and special education. Candidates from diverse academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the executive director, instructors, kitchen staff, and students in day-to-day operations of the organization and café.
  • Support fundraising efforts, donor management, and networking activities.
  • Aid in the procurement of supplies, inventory management, and cost control.
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives, including social media management, promotional events, and community outreach.
  • Provide support to students with disabilities, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with staff to develop and implement strategies for program improvement and growth.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in non-profit management, business, marketing, hospitality, social work, special education, social media/design or related field.
  • Experience or interest in working with neurodiverse populations or individuals with disabilities preferred.
  • Restaurant experience is a plus.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Well-organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Fast learner who can adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
